Pump Applications

Blackhawk high performance top head drive positive displacement piston pumps are available in a choice of pneumatic, electric or wind power sources and can be configured for explosion proof environments. With top head drive motors residing outside of the well or tank being pumped therefore, the pump’s electric wires or compressed air lines do not enter the well or tank.

Blackhawk Piston Pumps can pump hot and/or highly viscous/solid laden liquids. The pump’s positive displacement pumping action minimally disturbs the liquid being pumped. Blackhawk Piston Pumps pump against high head, at a controlled flow rate, independent of the liquid head in the well. They are easy-to-install and maintain and feature no fugitive gas emissions from pump exhaust.

Blackhawk Pumps are the Ideal Choice for Landfill Pumping. Blackhawk Pumps:

1. Feature top head drive motor- the most expensive part of the pump is above grade up out of the degrading digester of the landfill.

2. Pumps liquid down to bottom of the well.

3. Pumps at a controlled rate that does not disturb the landfill formation keeping path ways for leachate open to flow into the well and be pumped.

4. Easy to maintain and service from the surface.

5. No electrical power lines enter the landfill wells where hazardous methane gas can cause an explosion.

6. No compressed air enters the well that can leak into the landfill causing chemical or biological fouling and high oxygen in wells.

7. Power can be pneumatic or electric.

8. Pumps can pump under very hot conditions.

9. Pumps do not cause bio fouling or chemical incrustation.

10. No fugitive emissions are emitted.

11. Strong, chemical resistant, low friction Delrin drives pistons designed specially for landfill use.

12. Top head drive motor designed for use in all weather conditions - winter and summer.

13. Pump drive motors that are field serviceable and can be visually inspected.

14. Pump drive motors are completely separated from the gas well ensuring no fugitive emissions are allowed from the landfill wells.

15. Blackhawk pumps offer many advantages over other air-life pumps where:

Steel on steel or steel contact which grinds up and wears pistons

Grit chews up steel

Closed motors are hard to work on and exhaust fugitive emissions.

Closed air motor is hard to service.
